High School Focus:
Personalized PD

Personalized Professional
Learning

https://waverlyshellrock.wixsite.com/wsrpersonalizedpd

Teachers at W-SR High School are spending the school year pursuing their own learning for Professional Development. They are being given the freedom to choose the learning that is going to best help them serve their students. Teachers will all build a foundation with a book study, and then take off on their individual journey. Teachers will share publicly what they have learned and where they plan to continue growing. This process will become a part of the professional development culture at W-SR.

Authentic Intellectual Work

"At the high school, we have three pilot groups that will be utilizing the Authentic Intellectual Work framework to purposely reflect on the rigor and authenticity of the work they ask of students during their Wednesday professional learning time.  "AIW" is a collection of researched based rubrics and protocols that help teachers facilitate conversations to bolster the rigor and authenticity of what students are asked to do in class.  This year, the pilot teams will start their work on looking at tasks they provide students but look to grow their skills in AIW by student work and teacher instruction."
